Dear Church Leader,
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is passionate about seeing local churches unite to bring practical help, hope, and the love of Jesus to people facing debt and poverty.
At present, there is no CAP Debt Help coverage across Portsmouth and Gosport. We are keen to explore how churches across the city might work together to change this and bring free, face-to-face support to local people in financial distress.
We would love to invite you to join us for a CAP Spotlight gathering in Portsmouth:
CAP Spotlight – Portsmouth
📅 Thursday 1 October 2026
🕧 12.30–2.30pm
📍 Hope Church Portsmouth, Somers Road, Southsea, Portsmouth PO5 4QA
What to expect
This will be an informal, relational lunchtime gathering providing space to:
-
Connect: Build relationships with other local church leaders across Portsmouth.
-
Understand local needs: Listen to the specific challenges facing families and individuals in our communities.
-
Discover CAP Debt Help: Hear stories of how CAP partners with local churches to transform lives and deliver practical support.
-
Explore collaboration: Discern what a multi-church partnership could look like tailored for Portsmouth.
-
Ask & Pray: Seek clarity, ask questions, and spend time in prayer
There is no pressure or expectation to make a commitment. Our primary goal is simply to gather, share information, listen to one another, and discern where God is leading us together.
RSVP & Lunch
Lunch will be provided (purchased fresh the morning of the event). To help with catering, please take a moment to complete the short sign-up form here to let us know you are coming and share any dietary requirements.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to other church or ministry leaders who may be interested in joining the conversation.
It would be wonderful to have your church represented as we explore how, together, we can bring practical love and hope in our communities.
With every blessing,
Fiona Straszynski
